Khaberni - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), with support from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and in collaboration with Advanced Halo Management Company, announces the provision of training opportunities for two hundred local community beneficiaries who wish to volunteer and serve the community in the field of climate change adaptation.
The beneficiaries will be part of a cadre of leading women in the field of climate change adaptation under the project to build climate change adaptation capacity in Jordan through Khaberni to improve water use efficiency in the agriculture sector, BRCCJ.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) believes that voluntary work has tremendous potential for change, and that women play a fundamental role in improving climate change adaptation in agriculture.
Through these opportunities, the trainees will receive training in the field of climate change adaptation to become leading women in the field of climate change adaptation, Climate Wise Women (CCW), Khaberni to later spread knowledge within the local community, thereby enhancing awareness about climate change adaptation and water use efficiency in agriculture.
The BRCCJ project spans seven years and aims to enhance climate-resilient sustainable development in Jordan.
The training opportunities are available for 200 beneficiaries from the local community in the four Dead Sea basin governorates: Ma'an, Karak, Madaba, and Tafilah, with 50 beneficiaries from each governorate.
The training duration is 30 days, during which the trainees receive a transportation allowance, and the training content focuses on climate change adaptation and knowledge transfer to the local community.
