Jordan Closures and Diversions in the Dead Sea on Friday

Khaberni - The Jordanian Association for Marathons has announced the closure and diversion of traffic on several roads leading to the routes of the Dead Sea Bromine Ultra Marathon, specifically on Friday, April 10, in coordination with the Greater Amman Municipality and the Central Traffic Department, to ensure the safety of participants and the local community.

The organization of this annual event highlights Jordan's status as a distinctive destination for sports tourism, with the race taking place in the Dead Sea area, the lowest point on Earth, and according to the highest international standards that ensure the safety of runners and the quality of the organization.

Roads leading to the race tracks will be closed starting from midnight on Friday (12:00 AM) until 1:00 PM of the same day. The road closure will start after the Rama signals towards the Maghtas triangle in one direction from 12:00 midnight, and the road from the Maghtas triangle towards the hotel area up to Amman Tourist Beach will start closing from 2:00 AM, in addition to the complete road closure leading to the Maghtas starting from the same time. Also, the street between the checkpoint and the hotel area will be partially closed starting from midnight, and completely from 4:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

The association also notes that the area for vehicle and bus assembly and lining up for this year will be in the rally maintenance yard opposite the Crowne Plaza hotel in the Dead Sea.

Regarding alternative routes, citizens wishing to head towards the King Hussein Bridge can use the southern Shuneh road from the Rama triangle, or via the Sea Level Point road towards the Kafrein dam and then southern Shuneh. It is also possible to reach the Maghtas via back roads from the farms area, in addition to the possibility of using the hotels street cautiously in both directions from the Rama triangle up to Amman Tourist Beach, and also using the Dead Sea Panorama Road - Madaba for those coming from the south towards Amman.

The event includes three main races, where the 50 km Ultra Marathon (solo/relay) and 21 km half marathon will start at 6:00 AM from opposite Amman Tourist Beach, while the 21 km race for the disabled will start at 6:10 AM from the same location, while the 10 km race will start at 9:00 AM from after 2 km from the Maghtas triangle.

The association emphasized that these traffic measures are to ensure the highest levels of safety, urging citizens to comply with the instructions issued by the competent authorities and use alternative roads to avoid congestion.
