Khaberni - In a horrific tragic story, international reports have revealed the murder of a young Belarusian woman who was deceived by a fake job offer in the fashion industry, before falling victim to human trafficking gangs that are active along the border between Thailand and Myanmar, where she was forced to work under torture and then killed for her organs to be sold on the black market.
Vera Kraftsova (26 years old) dreamed of embarking on a new experience in the world of fashion modeling, where she left Minsk, the capital of Belarus, heading to Bangkok after receiving an enticing offer online from an unknown party to organize photo sessions on behalf of a brand. However, as soon as she arrived in Thailand, she was secretly transferred across the border to Myanmar, where the horrors began.
According to the "Daily Mail", lawless border areas known as "scam call centers" are essentially secret facilities operated by Chinese gangs and Burmese militias, where Vera fell victim to one of them.
In these areas, the kidnapped are forced to carry out online scam operations for the benefit of the gangs, while being threatened with torture or organ trafficking in case of disobedience or failure to achieve the required profits.
The reports estimate that the number of detainees in these centers exceeds 100,000 individuals from different nationalities, including a significant number of Russians and Belarusians and people from Southeast Asia.
Victim of organ trafficking
According to the Russian agency "Mash", Vera was forced to perform specific tasks inside the center, including exploiting her attractive appearance to lure victims online and convince them of bogus investments. However, when she stopped generating money, contact with her was lost, then her family received a horrifying call stating that she had been killed and her body was burned after her "organs were sold".
The gang demanded her family pay half a million dollars to recover the body, before later informing them that "the body was already burnt".
Survivor describes the hell
Conversely, a young Russian woman named Dashinima Ucherniyimayeva (24 years old) escaped the same fate after being deceived in the same manner, as she received a fake modeling job offer through the "Telegram" app, and traveled to Thailand before being smuggled into Myanmar.
The Russian Ambassador in Bangkok, Yevgeny Tomikhin, personally intervened in rescuing her and returning her to her country.
Human rights reports describe these camps as "small cities of modern slavery", containing restaurants, shops, and beauty salons to deceive the victims into believing they are living a normal life, while they are held inside under strict guard and prevented from leaving.
Humanitarian disaster
It is believed that the military council ruling Myanmar tacitly overlooks or participates in these activities in exchange for monetary gains. Meanwhile, Asian governments and diplomats continue their efforts to rescue hundreds of young men and women who have fallen victim to "fake job offers" online.
