Khaberni - Prince Andrew, the brother of King Charles III and who has been linked to several scandals, notably his association with the American Jeffrey Epstein accused of sex trafficking, has announced his renunciation of his royal title, categorically denying the accusations made against him.
The prince said in a statement, "After discussions with the king and my family, we concluded that the ongoing accusations against me are damaging the work of His Majesty and the royal (British) family. I have decided, as I always have, to prioritize my duty towards my family and country."
The prince, who withdrew from public life five years ago due to the scandal, added, "I will no longer use my title or the honors bestowed upon me."
The standing of the 65-year-old prince, who will immediately lose the title of Duke of York, has declined due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison in 2019 before his trial for sex crimes.
