According to the Argentine newspaper "Heraldo", the incident occurred in the Paramonga area of the Barranca province in the Lima region, where the man, named Jorge Luis Castillo Corso (55 years old), was preparing to start one of the fighting rounds between the roosters when he tried to grab the rooster's leg, but the bird suddenly attacked him and stabbed him in the thigh with a metal blade that had been attached to its leg moments earlier by its owner.
A video clip that spread on social media showed the moment of the attack, where the rooster delivered a swift strike with its blade-equipped leg, causing a cut in the femoral artery and causing fatal bleeding, amid a state of panic among the attendees who tried to aid the man and transport him to the hospital, but he died before arriving due to the loss of a large amount of blood.
