Khaberni - The director of the Zarqa Free Zone customs center, Customs Colonel Rukad Al-Issa, said on Friday that the vehicle customs clearance rate has increased by approximately 300% above the normal rate.
He added that yesterday, about 900 customs declarations were processed, noting that by 12 noon today, 372 customs declarations had been completed.
He noted that work continues until all submitted transactions are completed.
The Zarqa Free Zone is experiencing active movement by traders to clear vehicles before the latest government decisions to restructure the vehicle sector come into effect on November 1st.
Earlier, Al-Issa decided to continue the working hours of the employees at the vehicle department of the Zarqa Free Zone customs center on Fridays, October 17, 24, and 31.
This is to complete the transactions related to vehicle clearance due to the increased volume of such customs transactions.
He mentioned that the daily working hours have been extended until the last transaction of each day is completed through the end of the current month.
