Khaberni - The Traffic Management at the Public Security Directorate, in cooperation with the Jordanian Association for Marathons "Run for Jordan" (Run Jordan), announced that coinciding with the start of the Promen Amman Marathon today, Friday, a comprehensive plan for closures and traffic diversions in the capital Amman has been announced.
According to the Traffic Management announcement, the closures are as follows:
The closure of the road extending from Al-Mahatta complex passing through Al-Jaysh Street in both directions, the Hashemite Square, Quraish Street, Ali bin Abi Talib Street up to the Muhajirin signals, passing through Omar Matar Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashimi Street. This closure started from midnight last night and will continue until twelve noon today, within the 42 km (individual/relay) and 21 km race routes.
The complete closure of Queen Alia Street between the Sports City roundabout and the Ministry of Interior roundabout, starting from six o'clock in the morning.
The closure of Queen Noor Street between the Ministry of Interior roundabout and the Fourth Circle, starting from seven o'clock in the morning.
The closures also include Akaba bin Nafi Street and Princess Basma Street completely, from seven o'clock in the morning until twelve noon, within the 10 km race route starting at nine o'clock in the morning.
The Traffic Management confirmed that it has taken all necessary traffic measures to ensure the smooth movement and to provide alternative routes to facilitate citizens' access to downtown and the western areas of Amman. It also indicated that its staff are deployed along the race routes to provide assistance and guidance to road users, and to ensure compliance with traffic signals and instructions.
