Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the closure of Al-Mujib road, which connects the governorates of Madaba and Al-Karak, starting from Saturday, October 18, 2025, for a period of three weeks, to complete the landslide treatment works at the site, as part of a comprehensive plan to maintain vital roads and enhance traffic safety.
The Ministry clarified that the work at the site includes the removal of landslide materials, the construction of slopes and benches, and cuts in the mountainous area adjacent to the road, in addition to rebuilding the damaged part using the highest technical specifications approved.
The work also includes implementing advanced systems for groundwater and surface water drainage, alongside improving public safety elements to ensure a safe and stable traffic environment for road users.
The Ministry urged all citizens to temporarily use the desert road as an alternative for travel between Madaba and Al-Karak, until the completion of the works, and to follow the instructions issued by the project staff and security forces to ensure smooth traffic flow and everyone's safety.
It is noted that the total duration for the execution of the works at the site extends to 90 days.
