Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, affirmed during their meeting in Rome on Tuesday, the importance of ensuring the implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza, and the necessity for all parties to work effectively until all stages are completed.

 

His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister of Italy emphasized the necessity of delivering humanitarian aid in sufficient quantities to all areas of the sector.

 

His Majesty also emphasized the necessity of building on the agreement to restore calm in the region and to intensify efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

 

During the meeting, which was attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, His Majesty the King appreciated Italy's support for the two-state solution, and its role in the humanitarian response in Gaza.

 

His Majesty warned of the escalation against Palestinians in the West Bank, and the ongoing assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

 

His Majesty expressed his appreciation for Italy's efforts in hosting a new round of "Aqaba meetings," which will be held on Wednesday and will focus on the West Africa region.

 

The meeting, attended by His Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King’s senior advisor for religious and cultural affairs and the King’s personal envoy, discussed the historical relations between Jordan and Italy, and ways to expand cooperation in various fields.

 

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and the Director of His Majesty the King's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh.
