Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the statements made by the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on refusing the establishment of the Palestinian state, coinciding with the announcement of an Israeli governmental plan to expand and establish illegal colonial settlements in the occupied West Bank; a blatant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, undermining the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, ending the occupation, and achieving their independent sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital in occupied Jerusalem, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.

The spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, confirmed the kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the Israeli government's continued settlement plans in the occupied West Bank and the unacceptable statements of its officials which solidify the occupation and settlement expansion, and constitute a violation of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice which confirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and the nullity of the settlements and annexation measures of the West Bank territories occupied.

Al-Majali called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel to stop its dangerous escalation and illegitimate unilateral actions in the occupied West Bank, highlighting the evident tightening on Palestinians, and the necessity to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent state on their national soil; the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
