Khaberni - A court in Ajloun has ruled that the municipality must pay financial compensation to a citizen whose daughter was mauled by stray dogs.
In this context, the legal and legitimate attorney, Amjad Al-Qudah, said that one of the citizens came to him and informed him that his daughter was mauled by a stray dog in the governorate of Ajloun, which led to her being rushed for medical treatment.
Al-Qudah explained during his interview on "Ain FM" that he filed a lawsuit at the Ajloun Magistrate’s Court, marking the first time such a complaint has been lodged in Ajloun governorate.
He pointed out that the municipality's lawyer tried to involve the Ministry of Agriculture in the case, but the court rejected his request, prompting him to appeal the decision.
He noted that the court determined that the competent authority was the municipality, highlighting that he submitted all necessary medical reports and documents to the court. He confirmed that the verdict was issued after a year and ten months, in which the court ordered the municipality of Al-Ayun in Ajloun governorate to pay an amount of 2785 dinars to the girl's father, excluding lawyer fees and expenses, totaling approximately 3500 dinars.
Al-Qudah urged the Greater Amman Municipality and other municipalities to establish specific departments and directorates to deal with stray dogs by providing a designated place for them, in addition to feeding them with spoiled meats that are regularly seized.
He also suggested in another proposal to sell the stray dogs to Asian countries where the consumption of dog meat is permitted.
