Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held talks today with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean Noël Barrot, which addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the two friendly countries and developments in Gaza following the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing the need for practical and effective joint efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza to end the famine caused by the aggression.
The ministers welcomed the agreement and affirmed the necessity to adhere to it.
The talks occurred ahead of a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, which included the foreign ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.
Safadi emphasized the importance of the agreement and the necessity of its implementation during the meeting with his French counterpart, to end the war on Gaza and address its disastrous consequences.
Safadi highlighted the importance of American President Donald Trump's role in reaching the agreement and his proposal to end the war, introduce aid, prevent displacement, rebuild, and ensure a commitment to preventing the annexation of the West Bank.
Safadi appreciated the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in achieving the agreement.
Safadi stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Safadi also stressed the importance of the Two-State Solution conference held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, which was organized by Saudi Arabia and France to rally a unified international stance to support the Palestinian people's right to freedom and an independent and sovereign state on Palestinian national territory based on the two-state solution referred to in the conference statement.
