Trump I May Go to Egypt on Sunday

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump said he might go to Egypt next Sunday.

Trump added, in his remarks Wednesday evening, "I was just dealing with officials regarding a Gaza deal, and we are very close."

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump might visit the Middle East if an agreement is reached that ends the war in Gaza, according to Israeli media reports.

Rubio clarified in remarks to reporters on Wednesday evening that the decision would be up to Trump, but he suspected Trump's interest in making the visit "if his schedule allows it."

He indicated that negotiations had "made good progress today" and that "things are moving in a positive direction," but at the same time pointed out that "there is still work to be done," adding: "We have been in similar situations before and felt disappointed."

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi confirmed on Wednesday that the Sharm el-Sheikh negotiations are currently underway to end the war on Gaza and are progressing positively, and that Egypt is making relentless efforts to end the war on Gaza.

The Egyptian president sent a message to President Trump to continue his support for reaching an agreement on Gaza, adding: "I invite President Trump to attend the signing of the Gaza agreement in Egypt if it is reached."
