Israel Threatens to Occupy Lebanon Hezbollah Bloc Vows Retaliation

Khaberni - Israeli incursions and bombings in Lebanon continue, while Hezbollah responds by targeting Israel with rockets, drones, and engaging troops in the incursion areas, with its parliamentary bloc affirming that any buffer zone in southern Litani would be a "graveyard for the invaders," in response to Tel Aviv's threats.

The Israeli army has threatened with a "full occupation" of Lebanon under the pretext of disarming Hezbollah, as reported by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. At the same time, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, renewed threats to expand the war on Lebanon, announcing the army's intention to demolish homes in border villages, similar to what occurred in the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, alleging their use by Hezbollah.

Katz stated - as reported by the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth - that homes in Lebanese border villages used by Hezbollah would be demolished as they did in Rafah and Khan Younis, according to his statement.

These remarks came days after similar threats issued by Katz and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the expansion of what Israel calls the "buffer zone" in southern Lebanon.

The Hezbollah parliamentary bloc responded to these statements and threats, confirming that Israel's pursuit to establish a buffer zone in southern Litani poses a serious threat to Lebanon. The bloc stated that "any buffer zone would become a graveyard for the invaders, and the resistance's rockets and drones will bypass it."

30 Operations Against Israeli Targets

In the field, Hezbollah continues to bomb Israeli targets and engage soldiers in incursion areas. The group has announced, as of this report's writing time, 30 operations against Israeli targets.

Hezbollah stated in separate statements that it targeted Israeli military infrastructure in the city of Safed three times, in addition to bombing the settlement of Nahariya, and upper Galilee and Rosh Pinna settlements.

Hezbollah also announced targeting two Israeli soldiers in the town of Rashaf in southern Lebanon with a sniping operation, confirming a direct hit.

On the other hand, Israeli media reported that rocket attacks and drones launched from Lebanon on Friday caused significant damage to several buildings and houses in northern Israel, with no injuries reported, amid widespread siren alarms.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that rockets fired from Lebanon hit several buildings in the western Galilee area and the city of Nahariya, causing significant material damage, amidst concerns of additional drone infiltrations from Lebanon towards the upper Galilee area.

It coincided with Iran launching three missile volleys towards northern Israel, targeting the city of Haifa and the western Galilee within less than an hour.

5 Dead and Injuries in Lebanon

Since dawn this Friday, Israel has launched airstrikes and artillery on 17 areas in Lebanon, mostly in southern regions, resulting in 5 deaths and 15 other injuries.

According to the Lebanese News Agency, several southern areas were subjected to Israeli aerial bombardment, including the city of Bint Jbeil, and towns such as Ansar, Hadatha, Debel, Jwaya, Srifa, Burj Qallawiyah, Chaqra, Al-Bustan, Yehmur ash-Shaqif, Al-Ramadiya, Dabeil, Shamaa, Al-Mansouri, while the town of Kafra experienced Israeli artillery bombing.

To the East, Israel carried out air raids on the town of Sahmar in the western Bekaa district. In the capital, Beirut, Israeli warplanes conducted two strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Furthermore, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Eyal Zamir, confirmed that the military would not end its operations in Lebanon until it achieves its objectives, disarms Hezbollah, and ensures security for the longest possible period for northern towns.

The Israeli military operation in Lebanon since March 2 has resulted in 1,368 deaths and 4,138 injuries, according to the latest data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

The Israeli army repeatedly warned all residents of Lebanese villages south of the Litani River to evacuate their homes indefinitely, then expanded the scope of evacuation notices up to north of the Zahran River.

In southern Lebanon, four Israeli military teams are working to expand their land incursion but are facing fierce clashes with Hezbollah fighters, which have resulted in the death of 10 Israeli soldiers so far, Tel Aviv admits.

This aggression occurs amidst the fallout of the war that Israel and the United States have been waging on Iran since February 28, which has resulted in thousands of fatalities and injuries, in addition to assassinations targeting prominent figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some since decades and others since the last war between October 2023 and November 2024.
