Khaberni - Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said that the round of negotiations regarding President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza resumed today in Sharm el-Sheikh.

Al-Ansari added in a press conference today, Tuesday, that there are many details in Trump's plan still requiring consensus, noting that yesterday, Monday, witnessed four hours of detailed negotiations.

Al-Ansari confirmed that Qatar is committed to advancing the American president's plan, ending the war on Gaza, ending the Israeli occupation, and delivering aid, expressing his country's appreciation for the American commitment to ending the war on Gaza.

He said that Trump's plan requires that "the delivery of hostages will end the war on Gaza," noting that "the American position is clear that there is a link between the ceasefire and the delivery of hostages."

He said they are working with the American side to reach a consensus that the implementation of Trump’s plan will not be temporary, indicating that the guarantee is the presence of a quick-implementation, practical, and universally agreed-upon plan.

The spokesperson affirmed that all parties have agreed to President Trump’s plan and the obstacles now lie in its implementation, considering it important to start implementing a ceasefire and when the war machinery will stop grinding the bodies of Gaza's children.

On the other hand, the spokesperson confirmed that the presence of the Hamas movement office in Doha has been part of the mediation tool led by Qatar since 2006.

He pointed out that the future of the Palestinian people should be in the hands of the Palestinians alone.

On September 29 last year, Trump announced a 20-point plan, including the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas.

Last Saturday, Trump called on Israel to immediately stop its bombing of Gaza, following a positive response from Hamas to his plan, but Israel dismissed his call.

Since October 7, 2023 — with unreserved American support — Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza, resulting in 67,160 martyrs and 169,679 wounded, most of them children and women, alongside a famine that has claimed the lives of 460 Palestinians, including 154 children.
