Rescue of 350 Tourists from a Deadly Storm that Hit Everest

Khaberni - At least 350 tourists who were stranded on the Tibetan side of Mount Everest have been rescued following a snowstorm, according to Chinese state media.

The report mentioned that the rescue teams safely transported the group to the nearest settlement, Chodang, and earlier reports had indicated that nearly a thousand people were trapped at an altitude of about 4900 meters on the eastern side of the mountain.
Tents were reportedly partially damaged by the storm, and heavy snow closed access roads, the exact number of individuals still trapped on Mount Everest remains unclear, and the state news platform Jimu Xinwen reported injuries at the site, although there are no confirmed details on potential fatalities.

According to reports, hundreds of villagers are joining rescue teams in removing the snow that blocks access to the area situated at an altitude of over 4900 meters.

On the opposite side of the border in Nepal, the police said that heavy rains caused landslides and floods, leading to road closures, destruction of bridges, and at least 47 people have died since Friday.
In addition, 35 people died in scattered landslides in the Ilam region in the east of the country along the Indian border. Reports also indicated nine people missing after being swept away by floodwaters, and three others died in lightning strikes in other parts of the country.
