Ministerial delegation inspects the reality of services and projects in the governorates of Ajloun and Irbid

Khaberni - A ministerial delegation including the Minister of Local Administration Engineer Walid Al-Masri, the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Azmi Mahafaza, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Dr. Emad Hijazin, and the Minister of Environment Dr. Ayman Sulaiman, conducted a field tour that included several municipalities and developmental, service, and touristic sites in the governorates of Ajloun and Irbid, with the participation of the heads of the municipal committees and a number of local officials.

The purpose of the tour was to examine the reality of municipal services and projects, the level of general cleanliness, and the infrastructure in the visited areas, and to discuss mechanisms for supporting municipalities and enhancing their capabilities in managing their service and developmental projects, thereby contributing to improving the quality of services provided and enhancing the local environment.

The delegation began its tour in the governorate of Ajloun, where it inspected a number of areas under the Greater Ajloun Municipality, observed the state of general cleanliness and maintenance and beautification efforts in streets and public parks, and followed up on the municipality's efforts to improve the urban landscape and enhance the efficiency of basic services.
During the tour, the Minister of Local Administration, Engineer Walid Al-Masri, emphasized the importance of enhancing the field efforts of municipalities in monitoring daily services and interacting with citizens' needs, praising the improvement he observed in the level of general cleanliness and facility maintenance in the areas of the Ajloun Municipality.

The delegation also listened to a presentation from the head of the Greater Ajloun Municipality Committee about the most prominent ongoing projects, including the rehabilitation of Ras Al-Ain and Western Triangle in Anjara to set up an organized market for informal stands, and improve the city entrances and relocate quarries, which contributes to enhancing the general appearance.

The tour also included visits to a number of touristic and environmental sites in the governorate, including the Yarmouk Forests Biosphere Reserve and the eco-lodge project, Ajloun Castle, the Ajloun Cable Car site with its first and second stations, the touristic site of Saint Elias Church, and passing through the city center via the Ashtafina area, to review the state of services and infrastructure.

In the governorate of Irbid, the delegation reviewed the progress of work in the projects of reviving the city center and the Dahr Al-Tal area, which are implemented by the Greater Irbid Municipality, aiming to improve the urban environment and develop public spaces and infrastructure within the city.

Engineer Walid Al-Masri reaffirmed that the project represents a model of integration between municipal work and urban planning, pointing out the importance of continuing efforts to enhance cleanliness levels, traffic organization, and public services in various areas of the city.
During a tour in Wasatiyah Municipality, the ministerial delegation inspected the reality of services, general cleanliness, and maintenance of streets, parks, and central islands, within the ongoing efforts to improve the local environment.

The delegation also visited Khaled bin Al-Walid Municipality, where they observed the provided services, the progress of work in municipal projects, and infrastructure enhancement projects, in addition to a tour in the archaeological area in Umm Qais and the new eco-lodge project.

In conclusion of the tour, the Minister of Local Administration emphasized that these field visits come within the framework of following up the work on the ground, and supporting the municipalities in enhancing the efficiency of services and projects and improving the level of general cleanliness, noting that the ministry will continue to cooperate with all relevant entities to develop municipal performance and achieve balanced development across the different governorates of the kingdom.
