Issued in today’s edition of the official gazette on Wednesday, are the instructions for embryo transfer and artificial insemination in horses and the licensing of the specialized medical centers in this field.
The new instructions come into effect from the date of their publication in the official gazette.
The instructions define the original Arab horses as the horse registered in the authentic Arab horses book or register, accredited by the World Arabian Horse Organization as conforming to its approved specifications.
The instructions prohibit cloning operations, while the licensing of the center and the procedures of embryo transfer and artificial insemination are subject to the provisions, standards, and international instructions issued by the World Organization for Animal Health and the World Arabian Horse Organization, including the accreditation of techniques used and the number of embryos allowed for transfer, in the case of transfer from authentic Arab horses with no stipulated limit on the number of transferred embryos.
