Artist Lotfi Labib Moved to Intensive Care

Khaberni -The esteemed Egyptian artist Lotfi Labib was moved to the intensive care unit of a major hospital after experiencing a sudden health crisis, raising concerns among his fans and colleagues in the artistic community, amid increasing prayers for his speedy recovery.

Artist Taha Desouki expressed his solidarity with Labib, posting a message on Instagram Stories saying: «May God protect him and alleviate his suffering», sincerely expressing his hopes for Labib to overcome this difficult health ordeal.

For his part, Father Boutros Daniel, President of the Catholic Center for Cinema, revealed in media statements that he contacted Lotfi Labib's wife by phone to check on his condition, who in turn confirmed that he is still under careful observation in the ICU, noting that visits have not been allowed yet, waiting for an improvement in his condition in the coming days.

Father Daniel added that the artist's wife asked him to convey a message of thanks and gratitude to his fans, urging everyone to continue praying for him, affirming his great love among the audience within and outside Egypt, and expressing her hopes for his soon return to the screen that has long delighted his audience.

Artist Lotfi Labib was born on August 18, 1947, in a middle-class Egyptian Coptic family. Despite his early passion for acting, he insisted on completing his education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then joined the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1970, beginning his artistic career immediately after graduation.

Labib participated in about 120 films, notably including: Ghosts of Asphalt, Bobos, Want My Right, Andalib Al-Dokki, Me or My Aunt, King and Writing, Half a Dozen Villains, where he shone as one of the leading stars of comedy and supporting roles in Egyptian cinema.

He also excelled in about 80 TV series, most notably: The Scorpion, The Owner of Happiness, The End of the World Isn't Tomorrow, The Account, Edge of the Knife, managing with his simple and endearing style to secure a special place in the hearts of Arab viewers.
