Khaberni - The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today, Wednesday, that the technical teams have begun working on the details of the agreement between the United States and Iran, stating that the Gulf position is unified regarding the rejection of imposing any fees on the transit movement in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed Al-Ansari, said that the security of the strait and the stability of energy supplies are a shared responsibility, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the security of navigation in the region.
Furthermore, Al-Ansari affirmed that coordination among the Gulf countries continues at the highest levels, stressing that regional dialogue should be based on the principles of good neighborliness.
America and Iran held extended talks in Switzerland on the night of Sunday to Monday in the presence of the Qatari and Pakistani mediators, while it was reported that the atmosphere was positive, following a few days after the signing of the memorandum of understanding.
The attendees in Switzerland also agreed to establish working committees to follow up on the files of American sanctions on Tehran, the release of frozen Iranian funds abroad, as well as the Strait of Hormuz, and the Lebanon file.
