Cautious calm in southern Lebanon after two bloody days

Khaberni - A cautious calm was recorded in southern Lebanon and throughout Lebanese regions today, Sunday, with no Israeli military activity detected since Saturday evening.

No airstrikes or artillery shelling were recorded, following two days of violent military escalation in the country.

An Israeli airstrike that targeted the Rashidiya area in the Tyre district resulted in the martyrdom of two Palestinian nationals, according to a preliminary toll.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that airstrikes launched by the Israeli army on the town of Sahmar in the West Bekaa region resulted in the martyrdom of five people, including a child and a woman, in addition to another person being injured with varying severity.

According to available information, the total number of martyrs from the intense Israeli bombardment targeting southern and eastern Lebanon over the past two days exceeded 110 martyrs, while the official count of injured who are still receiving treatment in hospitals has not been announced.

The last Israeli bombardment was recorded around 7 PM last Saturday, where artillery bombing targeted the high ground of "Ali al-Tahir" in southern Lebanon.

In a related context, the municipality of the city of Nabatiyeh has urged citizens not to return to the city at the present time under any circumstance, in order to preserve their safety, confirming that the situation is still unsafe for return.
