Iran accuses America of violating the ceasefire and threatens to respond

Khaberni - After the American army carried out strikes in southern Iran, Iran accused the United States of violating the ceasefire agreement by launching airstrikes on the country, in addition to targeting an Iranian oil tanker and another ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

A spokesman for the Revolutionary Guard stated in a statement carried by the official media that "the United States violated the ceasefire, targeted an Iranian oil tanker heading towards the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to another ship entering the strait, and launched airstrikes on the coasts of Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island."

He also added, "In response to that, our forces attacked American military ships east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of the Chabahar port."

The spokesman threatened to respond to any attack "with a crushing response without the slightest hesitation," according to his description.

Furthermore, the Revolutionary Guard announced the launch of ballistic missiles and cruise missiles towards American destroyers.

Attack on an oil tanker
This came after the Iranian military launched missiles in response to an "attack" by the American army on an oil tanker, following the sound of explosions on Qeshm Island located in the Strait of Hormuz, as reported by Iranian television.

The television quoted a military official saying, "After the American army's attack on an Iranian tanker, enemy units in the Strait of Hormuz were subjected to Iranian missile fire and were forced to flee after suffering damage."

Concurrently with that, Iranian media reported explosions in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island in southern Iran, while the television reported that an explosion occurred at the Bahman passenger pier in Qeshm Island, indicating that the commercial sections of the pier were damaged as a result of the targeting.

"Strikes do not mean the resumption of the war"
Conversely, a senior American official reported that the American military today, Thursday, carried out attacks on the Iranian Qeshm port and the city of Bandar Abbas, as reported by "Fox News".

He continued, "We carried out strikes on Iran but that does not mean the resumption of the war or the end of the ceasefire announced on April 7th."

Israel knows nothing
On the other hand, the Israeli army said it "knows nothing" about any strike on Iran, according to what was reported by the Agence France-Presse.

The strikes come amid fears of a collapse of the ceasefire announced on April 7th, as the United States awaits Iran's response to an American proposal to stop the war between the two countries.
