Khaberni - Nine people were killed and nine others were critically injured due to a truck overturning in Raima governorate, central Yemen, in a horrifying traffic accident that resulted in significant human losses.
The media security affiliated with the Houthi group stated in a statement, that the truck which was loaded with quantities of bananas and carrying 18 people, went off track while passing through the Wadi Rima area in Al-Ja'fariya direcotrate, before plunging into the bottom of the valley, resulting in the death of half its passengers and injuring the rest with varying injuries.
According to the statement, the preliminary information indicates that the overload and narrowness of the road were among the most likely causes of the accident, given the nature of rugged mountainous roads that the area is known for.
This incident comes amidst continuous warnings of the dangers of crossing valleys and water paths during the rainy season and torrential floods, which have claimed the lives of dozens in recent weeks.
