Karim Khan I faced political pressure over Netanyahu arrest warrants

Khaberni - The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Karim Khan, said he is "completely innocent" from the allegations of sexual misconduct he is under investigation for by the UN.

In an interview with "Zeitio Media," Khan asserted that he should be allowed to return to his position after a panel of judges concluded there was no evidence of "misconduct or breach of duty" on his part.

In the interview, Khan discussed the arrest warrant issued by the court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating "no crime beyond borders," indicating that the court's jurisdiction extends to all serious crimes. When asked why he did not charge Netanyahu with genocide, he referred that to the legal assessment of the evidence presented before him.

Khan revealed that he faced pressure and threats from prominent political figures before issuing the arrest warrants, including US Senator Lindsey Graham and former British Prime Minister David Cameron, who warned him against pursuing Israeli officials, including threats to cut funding to the court or withdraw from it.

He added that he had informed Washington and other capitals in advance of his intention to request arrest warrants in the Palestine case before the accusations against him emerged, denying that his decisions were an attempt to divert attention from the UN investigation.
