Khaberni - Almost unrecognizable, the Palestinian journalist Ali Samoudi appeared with a gaunt, exhausted body, as if a whole year of captivity had condensed several other years of hardship, leaving its mark on the man who was about to turn sixty.
The Israeli authorities - yesterday Thursday - released the well-known Palestinian journalist in the West Bank, Ali Samoudi, who was arrested from his home in Jenin at the end of April 2025, and was already suffering from several health issues and in need of medical follow-up.
Samoudi has extensive journalistic experience, as he worked - before his arrest - for the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds and the American network "CNN", and before his detention, Samoudi was covering events and developments in Jenin.
The streets and squares of Jenin witnessed his constant presence, as he was keen on covering the events and developments in the city. He had been injured several times by the occupation forces, and the most dangerous was when the occupation forces killed his colleague Shireen Abu Akleh on May 11, 2022, where he - along with other colleagues - accompanied her during the coverage of an Israeli military incursion into the Jenin camp.
