3 Palestinians Martyred in Gaza as Global Press Organizations Demand Access to the Sector

Khaberni - 3 Palestinians were martyred and 10 injured, among them one serious case due to scattered Israeli raids and attacks in Gaza, simultaneously with calls from the heads of major bodies and press agencies around the world urging the occupation to lift the ban on foreign journalists entering the sector.

Medical sources confirmed to Anadolu Agency that the bodies of 3 martyrs and one serious injury were brought to the Alsaraya field hospital operated by the Hilal Red Crescent, due to an Israeli raid targeting a cart pulled by an animal near Al-Kuwait roundabout in Al-Zeitun neighborhood.

It was reported that the martyrs are Ahmad Barik Mallahi (elderly man), I'timad Ahmad Mallahi (woman), and Rani Salim Rada'win, noting that the bombing halted vehicle movements on Salahuddin Street, which connects the southern and northern parts of the sector from the east side.

Earlier on Thursday, two Palestinians were injured due to targeting by an Israeli drone in the Shuja'iyya area, while six were injured by a drone targeting a group of citizens near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city, and another fisherman by the fire from Israeli naval boats off the northwest coast of Rafah city.

Call to Allow Journalists Access
Furthermore, the heads of major world bodies and press agencies demanded the Israeli occupation to allow foreign journalists entry into Gaza.

The executive directors of the media bodies and agencies (including "BBC," "CNN," "MC Now," Reuters, German News Agency, Washington Post), stated in a release that being on the ground is essential for journalists to clarify narratives from all sides, to speak directly with civilians, and to broadcast what they witness firsthand.

Despite the ceasefire agreement effective since October 10, 2025, Tel Aviv continues to block journalists from entering Gaza since the beginning of its aggression on the sector in October 2023.

Over 22 heads of bodies claim that the Israeli government has not yet responded to their efforts to discuss the situation, questioning why Israel continues these restrictions.

The Israeli occupation cited the ban on foreign journalists entering Gaza due to the potential disclosure of the locations of Israeli soldiers, thus endangering their lives, in addition to the sector being a very dangerous and active combat zone.

Under tight control, Israel has allowed foreign journalists entry from time to time, but the global bodies and press agencies demand freedom of movement in producing journalistic materials in the sector.

The army permitted the entry of foreign journalists occasionally on tightly controlled trips, but media outlets desire freedom of movement.

Responding to the Israeli claims, the editors stated that intense fighting had ended, there was a ceasefire, and prisoners had returned home, asserting that journalists pose no threat to the Israeli forces.

They pointed out that despite being restrictive, there exists a mechanism allowing relief workers to enter and exit, so why not allow journalists the same?

Martyrdom and injury of 487 Palestinians during the month
In context, the Gaza government announced that the Israeli occupation committed 377 violations of the ceasefire agreement during the ongoing April, resulting in the martyrdom of 111 Palestinians and injuring 376 others.

In a statement, it was clarified that only 4503 aid trucks entered Gaza out of 18,000 stipulated by the agreement, which is no more than 25%.

It was pointed out that the fuel sector witnessed a sharp decline, as only 187 trucks entered in April out of 1500 stipulated by the agreement, which is no more than 12%, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and affecting vital services, particularly health, water, and energy.

The Gaza government deemed the situation a systematic obstruction of aid flow and the deprivation of the civilian population of their basic needs, reaffirming indications of the failure to implement the ceasefire terms and the continuance of delays, undermining the calm and keeping the humanitarian situation deteriorated.

Mediators and the international community were urged to compel Israel to implement all terms of the agreement fully, timely, and without selectivity, accelerate the introduction of aid and fuel, regularly open borders, and facilitate travel movements as per the understandings.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Israel killed 824 Palestinians by bombing and gunfire, and injured 2316 others, since the ceasefire became effective more than six months ago.

Additionally, the tally of the Israeli massacre since October 2023, supported by the US, amounted to 72,601 martyrs and over 172,000 injured Palestinians, in addition to widespread destruction of civilian homes and infrastructure.
