When the Voice Rose Meaning Fell
الكاتب: محمد الحواري

In a time when access has become easier than understanding, the voice is no longer a sign of presence… but sometimes, it is a sign of confusion.
We open our phones and find endless noise, words spoken quickly, and opinions cast without pause… But what really gets through?

We hear a lot… but we do not listen.

Hearing is when sound passes through your ear,
Listening… is when a person passes through your heart.

And in one of the moments that recently spread, someone came out in a live broadcast, speaking confidently and loudly, but he mixed the meanings, and crossed the bounds of decency, turning his speech from an attempt to express… to an example of the absence of understanding.
The problem was not just in what he said… but in the way it was said:
Loud voice… and lost meaning.

And here lies the story.

Many of our disputes today do not stem from a difference in opinions, but from the rush to respond, and from the illusion that we know.
We want to speak before understanding, and to convince before listening.

Imagine two people standing on opposite banks of a river, each shouting to the other…
The voice rises, but the meaning drowns in the water.
What they lacked was not the strength of the voice… but a bridge.

And this bridge is listening.

Real content does not add new noise…
It creates a space for understanding.
A moment of calm… where one returns to oneself before speaking.

We do not need more speakers…
We need those who know when to be silent, and how to understand.

Because meaning is not born from the rise of the voice…
but from the depth of listening.

The beauty of speaking… is knowing when to be silent.
