Decision Requires Youth Ministry to Compensate Childs Family Due to Goal Post Collapse

Khaberni – The Court of Cassation upheld a ruling obligating the Ministry of Youth to pay compensation to the family of a child who suffered severe injuries after a goal post fell on him inside a stadium in Jerash.
The details of the case go back to an incident that occurred while the child was playing inside a stadium belonging to a public sports facility, where an unsecured goal post fell, causing him serious injuries including skull fractures and brain injuries that required extensive surgeries and treatment.
According to the decision, a technical expertise report confirmed the presence of negligence in the general safety procedures within the facility, and the unsafe installation of the sports equipment, making the stadium an unsafe environment for visitors.
The court confirmed the responsibility of the supervising authority for the accident, with an obligation to compensate the victim for the physical, material, and moral damages, including medical expenses and future losses resulting from the injury.
