Jordan and Libya Sign Agreement to Expand Military Training Areas

Khaberni - The Chief of the Joint Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, welcomed on Sunday at the General Command, the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Khaled Khalifa Haftar, and his accompanying delegation.

The guest was given formal reception ceremonies, during which the honor guard was reviewed, lined up to greet him.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint military cooperation and coordination, and exchange experiences in the areas of training and capacity development, contributing to improving the efficiency of the armed forces in the two brotherly countries.

The Chief of the Joint Staff and the guest delegation listened to briefings that covered the main aspects of the modernization and development program in the Jordanian Armed Forces, in addition to reviewing the major challenges imposed by the regional environment.

Major General Al-Huneiti and Lieutenant General Haftar signed a joint cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral coordination, expanding areas of military training, and exchanging expertise and knowledge, as part of the cooperation programs carried out by the Jordanian Armed Forces with a number of brotherly and friendly armies.

The Chief of the Joint Staff emphasized the importance of enhancing joint military cooperation to serve strategic interests and contribute to supporting security and stability at the regional level.

For his part, Lieutenant General Haftar praised the level of cooperation between the two sides, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging military expertise.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and the Libyan Military Attaché in Amman.
