Taiwan detects 8 military aircraft and 7 Chinese warships around its territories

Khaberni - The Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense detected eight military aircraft and seven warships belonging to China between 6 AM on Friday and 6 AM on Saturday.

The ministry added that none of the military aircraft entered the Taiwanese Air Defense Identification Zone.

In response, Taiwan deployed aircraft, warships, and coastal missile systems to monitor the activity of the People's Liberation Army of China, according to "Taiwan News", today Saturday.

Since the beginning of this month, the Ministry of National Defense has detected Chinese military aircraft 159 times and ships 199 times.

Since September 2020, Beijing has increased its use of grey zone tactics by gradually increasing the number of military aircraft and naval ships operating around Taiwan.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) defines grey zone tactics as "an effort or series of efforts that go beyond firm deterrence and ensure the security objectives of a state without resorting to the direct and massive use of force."
