Khaberni - The U.S. forces revealed the naval destroyer leading the siege on Iranian ports in response to Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" posted on its "X" platform account an image of the guided missile destroyer that is overseeing and executing the mission to blockade the Iranian ports following the recent war that ended with a fragile truce agreement that could collapse at any moment.
A CENTCOM post stated: "The guided missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) is enforcing the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, having intercepted an Iranian-flagged ship attempting to sail towards an Iranian port on April 24."
Amid the seizing and rerouting of cargo ships and oil tankers reciprocally between Iran and the U.S., American economic expert Jeffrey Sachs warned that the world faces the risk of a severe global economic crisis due to the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical maritime passages for the world's energy trade.
Sachs said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson that "a severe global economic crisis is currently crystallizing due to the closure of a narrow passage through which huge and vital amounts of resources pass, including oil, gas, fertilizers, petrochemicals, and aluminum," warning of broad implications for global markets and supply chains.
