Egyptian President The Palestinian issue is the core of the crises in our region

Khaberni - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized that the Palestinian issue remains the core of the crises in the Middle East region, and the central issue for the Arab world.
Sisi, in a speech during a consultative meeting between leaders of Arab and European countries in Cyprus on Friday, emphasized the importance of not allowing any party to exploit the regional situation and undertake actions that undermine the prospects of peace and coexistence between the Palestinian and Israeli peoples based on the two-state solution, warning of the continuing "highly tense" situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian president also stressed the necessity for the Palestinian people to remain on their land and the importance of concerted efforts to halt settlement policies and prevent any attempts at displacing them or liquidating the Palestinian issue. He also highlighted the importance of the Palestinian National Committee taking responsibility for managing the Gaza Strip and speeding up the deployment of an international stability force to ensure monitoring of the ceasefire.

He also highlighted the need for Israel to fulfill its obligations under the first phase and for all parties to proceed with implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the sector, alongside the immediate start of early recovery projects and reconstruction throughout the sector to ensure a return to normal life for the Palestinian people.

He called on the European Union and its countries to continue supporting the Palestinian cause and not to allow it to decline in priority, as there is no alternative to establishing an independent Palestinian state, within the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital "East Jerusalem," pursuant to the two-state solution, which has been agreed upon by the international community as the only way to achieve lasting peace in the region.

About developments in Lebanon, he confirmed that achieving stability is at the forefront of Egypt’s priorities, noting the importance of adherence to the ceasefire that was recently reached, and the convergence of efforts of all partners to prevent a return to escalation.

He also affirmed Egypt’s full support for the efforts of the Lebanese state and its institutions and the necessity of the international community assuming its responsibilities in supporting Lebanese national institutions to play their pivotal role, and pushing for an end to the occupation and Israeli aggressions.
