CNN reveals Americas military plans if truce with Iran fails

Khaberni - A report by the American network "CNN" stated that American military officials are currently working on new plans to target Iranian capabilities in the Strait of Hormuz, should the current ceasefire with Iran collapse.

The network, citing "multiple sources familiar with the matter," said that the options being considered focus particularly on "dynamic targeting" of Iran's capabilities around the Strait of Hormuz, and south of the Arabian Gulf, and Gulf of Oman.

The sources revealed potential attacks against small fast-attack boats, mine-laying ships, and other asymmetrical assets that have effectively helped Tehran shut down these vital waterways and use them as leverage against the United States.

This blockade has caused massive repercussions on the global economy, threatening to undermine President Donald Trump's efforts to reduce American inflation, a situation ongoing despite the truce that halted American strikes starting April 7.
New focus on the strait

While the American military has already targeted the Iranian navy, much of the bombing in the first month was focused on targets far from the strait, allowing the U.S. military to strike deep inside Iran. However, the new plans call for a more concentrated bombing campaign around the strategic waterways.

However, military strikes around the strait alone are not likely to immediately reopen the waterway, according to sources including a major maritime shipping broker.

A source familiar with the military planning told the network, "Unless the United States definitively proves the destruction of Iran's military capabilities at 100%, or ensures its full ability to neutralize threats, the matter will ultimately depend on Trump's willingness to take risks and push ships to cross the strait."
The sources also mentioned that the American military might also carry out Trump's previous threat to strike dual-use targets and infrastructure, including energy facilities, in an attempt to force Iran to the negotiating table.

Trump has stated that the United States would resume combat operations in the absence of a diplomatic solution to the war, but American officials have warned that striking infrastructure targets would represent a controversial escalation in the conflict.

One source mentioned another option prepared by military planners, which involves targeting Iranian military leaders and others they called "obstructors" within the regime, who American officials recently indicated are actively undermining negotiations. This includes Ahmad Vahidi, who holds the position of the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In response to a question about target planning, a U.S. Department of War official stated, "Due to operational security, we do not discuss future or hypothetical movements. The American military continues to present options to the president, and all options are still on the table."
