Syria Israeli force stationed in Tel alAhmar in Quneitra

Khaberni - An Israeli force penetrated, on Saturday evening, into Quneitra province in southwest Syria, and stationed itself in prefabricated rooms it had brought, on Friday, to eastern Tel al-Ahmar in the southern part of the province.

The Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that an Israeli force composed of two tanks and two Hilux vehicles, and one Humvee, entered the site of eastern Tel al-Ahmar.

An Israeli force had also penetrated, on Friday, into the hill located in the southern sector of Quneitra with three trucks loaded with three prefabricated rooms, along with a crane and trucks and two Humvees.

Earlier on Saturday, an Israeli force composed of several military vehicles penetrated into northern rural Quneitra, erected a temporary barricade on the Tranjah road towards Al-Amal farms, and inspected passers-by before later withdrawing from the location.

Statements by Al-Shara
On Thursday, President Ahmad Al-Shara - during an interview with Anadolu Agency - stated that Syria is serious about reaching some type of security agreement with Israel to maintain stability in the region.

He added "I do not think that negotiations with Israel have reached a dead end, but they are taking place with great difficulty due to Israel's insistence on being present on Syrian territory."

Following the overthrow of the deposed president Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, Israel has since conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian military sites and deployed forces in a buffer zone that was under United Nations supervision and separated the Israeli and Syrian forces in the Golan, in a move the United Nations deemed a "violation" of the disengagement agreement.

Since then, Israel has carried out repeated incursions into Syrian territory alongside air strikes, declaring its intention to establish a demilitarized zone in the south of the country.

Damascus calls on Israel to respect the disengagement agreement which delineates the line that separates the parts occupied by Israel of the Golan Heights and Syrian territories.

Since last year, Israel and the Syrian authorities have held a series of rounds of discussions. Under American pressure, the two sides agreed in January to establish a joint coordination mechanism, paving the way for a security agreement between them.
