Partnership to Support Celiac Patients Rare Diseases and Guarantee Safe Food for Them

Khaberni  - In a qualitative step reflecting the increasing interest in patient rights to access safe food and comprehensive health services, the Celiac Care Charity Society (CCCPS) and the Organization for Rare Diseases Awareness (ORDA) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at unifying efforts to serve patients with celiac disease and rare diseases in Jordan.

The agreement was signed on April 9, 2026, on the sidelines of the participation of the ORDA and its representative Aida Abu Aleem, and the Celiac Care Charity Society and its representative, Mrs. Abeda Al-Qaisi, as a member of the executive committee at the 9th International Conference of the Jordanian Society of Allergy and Immunology & the 5th Conference of the Arab Association for Immunodeficiency, in a step that reflects enhancing the role of the societies in institutional work and national partnerships.

This partnership comes in response to real needs faced by patients, amidst challenges related to the high cost of gluten-free products, their limited availability, and the need for more awareness and early diagnosis.

The agreement focuses on launching joint programs that include awareness workshops, supporting patients and their families, and networking them with available services, in addition to cooperation in studies and research, all of which contribute to improving their quality of life and empowering them healthily and socially.

This partnership also represents an important step towards enhancing healthy food security for special needs groups, by supporting efforts to ensure that celiac patients have safe and sustainable access to gluten-free food.

The two societies affirmed that this cooperation reflects their commitment to building a more comprehensive and sustainable support system, opening new horizons for national initiatives that serve patients, and enhancing the presence of their issues at the level of health policies and programs in the kingdom.
