Khaberni - The Jordanian American Association in New Jersey and New York organized a historic event reflecting the pride of the Jordanian community in its national identity, where Paterson, New Jersey witnessed a special ceremony on Jordanian Flag Day, during which the Jordanian flag was raised for the first time in the city's history.
This event took place amid notable official and public attendance, sponsored by the Mayor of Paterson, Mr. Andre Sayegh, and attended by his Deputy, Mr. Raed Oudeh, along with participation from several city council members. The ceremony was also honored by the presence of a group of distinguished figures who added special value to the occasion with their kind words, including:
* The Jordanian inventor from Tafilah Governorate, Dr. Shahab Al-Quraan
* Mr. Diab Mustafa, head of the Palestinian community in New Jersey
Youth also had a notable presence, including Miss Arwa Al-Nasoor, who is deeply involved in educational council activities in the state, alongside extensive participation from local community leaders.
Participants emphasized in their speeches that this occasion represents an important milestone in enhancing national identity and fostering a sense of belonging, noting that raising the Jordanian flag in New Jersey reflects the active presence of the Jordanian community and its positive integration into American society, and at the same time embodies values of coexistence and cultural diversity.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Maher Al-Qudah, president of the Jordanian American Association in New Jersey and New York, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the success of this event, affirming that this initiative will not be a one-time event, but an annual tradition that will continue to raise the Jordanian flag in the city of Paterson on this date each year, God willing, enhancing cultural ties and reinforcing the meanings of belonging and identity.
