Khaberni - In one of the strangest stories in modern football, Lamberto Boranga continues to defy time, since his name officially appeared in the "Football Manager 26" (Football Manager 26) database as the oldest player ever to be listed in the history of the series.
Boranga, who began his professional career in 1961, is still present on the fields to this day. The Italian goalkeeper has played in over 100 matches in the Italian first division with clubs such as Fiorentina, Brescia, and Cesena, before he set a notable record last October.
At the age of 83, he participated with the Trevana team in the seventh division during a match against Foligno, becoming the oldest player to participate in an officially organized match in the history of Italy, a feat likely to continue for many years.
Although the match ended with him conceding five goals before being replaced in the second half by goalkeeper Maurizio Rossi (26 years old), Boranga gave a realistic assessment of his performance saying, "I made two mistakes, but I made three or four good saves."
