Khaberni - Motorola has officially announced the complete details of its new phone, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro, along with setting the launch date, which will take place on April 22, in a move to boost its presence in the upper-midrange phone category.
More advanced design and display
The new phone comes with an Extreme AMOLED display of 6.8 inches, with Super HD resolution, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and brightness up to 5200 nits, making it one of the brightest phones in its category.
It also features a curved design on the sides and colors inspired by collaborations with Pantone, including shades like Lily White, Tea, and Titan, with various materials ranging from glass to textile touches, according to a report published by "phonearena" and reviewed by "Al-Arabiya Business".
Stronger performance and a new processor
The device relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, with up to 12 gigabytes of RAM and running Android 16, along with a promise of three years of system updates and five years of security updates.
Larger battery and faster charging
The phone includes a 6500 mAh battery, with support for fast charging at 90 watts, enhancing its ability to last longer compared to the previous generation.
Improved camera but with controversial changes
In terms of photography, the phone comes with a main camera of 50 megapixels utilizing the Sony Lytia 710 sensor, with enhancements geared towards low-light photography.
However, some leaks suggest that the phone may not include a telephoto lens, which might be seen as a drawback compared to the previous model, instead relying on a wide lens and a multi-function sensor.
High resistance and extra durability
The phone supports IP68 and IP69 standards for water and dust resistance, along with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, military durability standards MIL-STD-810H, in addition to Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support.
Price and availability
It is expected that the phone will be first launched in India, and later reach European markets, with a price range expected to be between 649 and 699 euros, which is higher than the previous generation.
It is not expected that the phone will be directly launched in the American market, with the possibility of a modified version appearing in another series from the company later on.
Intensified competition in the upper-midrange category
The new phone reflects Motorola's strategy to strengthen its position in the upper-midrange phone market by combining unique design and strong specifications, amid increasing competition among companies to offer the best value for the price.
