Samsung Shapes a New Era of Privacy with Galaxy S26 Ultra

Khaberni  - Samsung Electronics has unveiled the flagship Galaxy S26 series, which has transformed the mobile device sector through the sophisticated features it provides, especially the Privacy Display feature integrated into the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This flagship model establishes a new category of devices centered around the concept of "built-in trust through design" in the era of artificial intelligence, which shifts privacy from being a mere software setting and additional accessories to becoming an innovative essential component of the device. This approach sets protection standards at the heart of the design process, embedding privacy as a seamless and user-friendly experience, compatible with everyday life requirements.

This change stems from Samsung's recognition that deepening technological integration entails a greater commitment to protecting users' personal space, especially since AI-powered devices are now more personalized and context-aware.

[A New Milestone in Galaxy History: A Quantum Leap in Display Technology]

The Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces a new pixel-level privacy concept with the Privacy Display feature from Samsung, which relies on a precise architecture for controlling light dispersion, unlike traditional privacy filters that are affixed over screens and tend to reduce brightness or affect fingerprint sensor efficiency. The pioneering industry-level technology narrows the paths of light emitted from each pixel, allowing users to enjoy a clear, high-contrast visual experience when looking at the screen, while the screen shifts to full privacy mode when viewed from all other angles.

Commenting on this, the Vice President of Marketing at Samsung Electronics for the Middle East and North Africa, Omar Saheb said: "We are entering a new era where technology has become more personalized and intelligent, increasing the importance of protecting personal information. Therefore, we have ensured the integration of privacy features into the physical components of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, rather than being a software feature within the operating system, providing users with greater confidence and preserving their privacy when using the device in public spaces or crowded transport, without affecting the leading display experience characteristic of Galaxy devices."

[Privacy that Fits Today's Lifestyle]

The Galaxy S26 Ultra operates with the One UI 8.5 interface, offering a range of features designed to seamlessly integrate privacy standards into the Galaxy experience, including:

  • Private Album: which helps users secure personal media directly from within the gallery app using the current device lock, without the need to create a separate account or folder.
  • Proactive Privacy Alerts: instant notifications that monitor apps' attempts to access sensitive data such as precise location or call logs when there is no need for it.
  • Intelligent Call Screening: the Galaxy AI responds to incoming calls from unknown numbers to identify the caller and summarize the reason for the call before the user decides to respond.

[A User-Friendly Privacy Experience]

The Privacy Display feature is designed to integrate smoothly into daily usage while providing precise control, without affecting device performance, allowing users to:

  • Choose the mode: to easily switch between the off, activation, and maximum privacy protection modes, to suit the usage environment.
  • Smart automation: by setting the screen to automatically activate the privacy feature when opening specific apps, or when entering the personal identification number (PIN) on the lock screen.
  • Partial screen privacy: to hide sensitive popup notifications, while keeping the rest of the screen content visible.

[Multiple Layers of Protection]

These innovations are based on an integrated security system; while the Privacy Display feature provides physical-level protection, the Knox Vault technologies isolate sensitive biometric data within secure physical components in the device, and the Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) ensures that each app has exclusive access to its own encrypted data. To enhance the sustainability of this trust, Samsung provides seven years of security updates for the Galaxy S26 series.
