The Musicians Daughter Reveals Secrets of The Artistic Mihrab of Abdel Wahab

Khaberni - The daughter of the musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab revealed details and hidden aspects of her father's artistic and personal life, highlighting his appreciation for several stalwarts of music.

During her appearance on the show "One of the People," Iffat confirmed that the artist Najat Al Saghira held an exceptional place in her father's heart, describing her as one of the dearest voices to his heart.

She explained that Abdel Wahab saw in Najat an extraordinary singing talent, distinguished by high sensitivity, due to her unique ability to convey meanings and emotions, and quick memorization because of her exceptional skill in understanding complex melodies and performing them, pointing out that the song "Do Not Lie" remains a testament to this high-class artistic cooperation that combined melodic genius and vocal sweetness.

About his relationship with Um Kulthum, Iffat described it as "a deep friendship," based on mutual affection and constant communication, noting that this human and artistic closeness culminated with the historic collaboration in the song "You Are My Life," which revolutionized Arab music and was dubbed "Meeting of the Clouds."

The late musician's daughter also spoke about his appreciation for the artist Abdel Halim Hafez and his notable admiration for the artist Mahmoud Shokoko, confirming that her father's perpetual objective was to develop Arab music and elevate it to keep pace with the times.

"Secluded Room"

The musician's daughter discussed his strict rituals during work, where she revealed the existence of a private room inside the house, which served as an "artistic mihrab" forbidden for anyone to enter or disturb her father while he was there, noting, "He would spend long hours in his room with his instruments, the organ and the flute, and in this seclusion, the walls witnessed the birth of the most important masterpieces that shaped the consciousness of the Arab listener."

The episode reviewed other aspects of the life of the musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab, including details about how he managed his relationship with his family away from the spotlight, and the family's stance on his turn to art in his childhood and his early passion for music.

Iffat Abdel Wahab concluded her talk by mentioning that her father's legacy was not just melodies, but was a school of artistic discipline and a love of creativity that continued until the last days of his life.
