Khaberni - Iran threatened, on Wednesday, to impose a naval blockade on the Red Sea, which it does not share direct borders with, should the blockade imposed by the United States on its ports continue, which Tehran said could lead to a breach of the ceasefire.
The commander of the Iranian armed forces, Ali Abdullah, stated that the continuation of the United States in its naval blockade and "creating a state of uncertainty regarding the security of Iranian commercial ships and oil tankers", would constitute a "prelude" to breaching the ongoing ceasefire since April 8th.
Abdullah added in a statement broadcast on official television, "The strong armed forces of the Islamic Republic will not allow any exports or imports in the Gulf," or the "Sea of Oman or the Red Sea".
