Iran Warns of Looming Disaster in the Gulf Region

Khaberni - The Iranian government announced that it raised the issue of "disastrous damages that could affect the entire Gulf region if the Bushehr nuclear plant is attacked" at meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The spokeswoman for the Iranian government, Fatemeh Mahajerani, told Novosti: "The entire Gulf region would face unimaginable severe damages".

She added that "the bombing of the Bushehr facility is one of the issues that Iran has begun to raise in international forums, including the International Atomic Energy Agency".

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization reported that three missile incidents occurred around the Bushehr plant in March.

The Iranian authorities reported that the plant was targeted for the fourth time, resulting in one death, material damage, and warnings of a regional disaster.

The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, called for maximum restraint to avoid the risk of a nuclear accident.

Earlier, Alexey Likhachev, the Director-General of Rosatom, the Russian nuclear energy corporation that manages the plant, stated that the situation around the Bushehr plant area continues to deteriorate.
