Engineer Ibrahim Odeh AlHajjaj Temporary Fix for Applied Science Traffic Circle

Khaberni - Engineer Ibrahim Odeh Al-Hajjaj, a former member of the Greater Amman Municipality Council for Shafa Badran area and one of its residents, called on Amman's mayor, Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, and MP Taysir Abu Arabi Al-Adwan, to intervene to find radical traffic solutions in the area, following the removal of the "Shafa Badran Gate" traffic circle, which he described as vital.

Al-Hajjaj proposed implementing a comprehensive project that includes the construction of a tunnel linking Ibn Al-Qayyim Street with Prince Talal bin Muhammad Street, along with an overpass connecting Abu Nseir and Shafa Badran – Arab Street, considering that such a step would reduce traffic congestion and serve about 400,000 residents of the area.

He mentioned that implementing the project would be a service achievement, similar to other areas that have seen the construction of tunnels, bridges, and pedestrian crossings, affirming that the cost of implementation now would be less compared to the future.

Al-Hajjaj criticized the direction to replace the roundabout with traffic lights, describing it as a "temporary fix" that could lead to severe traffic crises, amid dissatisfaction among the citizens.

He questioned the reasons for constructing a new roundabout in Hamad Abu Suweilem Street near the Applied Science University while the municipality is moving towards removing roundabouts.
