As Hajj Season Approaches Mandatory Permits to Enter Mecca

Khaberni - In preparation for this year's Hajj season, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced several measures aimed at ensuring the safety of pilgrims and the performance of the Hajj pilgrimage. Starting today, residents wishing to enter the holy capital are required to obtain official permits from the relevant authorities.

Entry is prohibited for those who do not have these permits, except for those holding a resident identity issued from Mecca, those with a Hajj permit, or those with a work permit in the holy sites issued electronically through Absher Individuals and the Muqeem portal in technical integration with the Permit platform.

In a related context, it mentioned that the last date for Umrah visa holders to leave the Kingdom is Saturday (1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH corresponding to April 18, 2026 AD), and it also stopped issuing Umrah permits through the "Nusk" platform for citizens of the Kingdom and Gulf Cooperation Council countries and residents inside the Kingdom and other visa holders from (Saturday 1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH corresponding to April 18, 2026 AD) until (Sunday 14 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH corresponding to May 31, 2026 AD).

It also prohibited entering and staying in Mecca for all types of visa holders, except for those with a Hajj visa, starting from (Saturday 1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH corresponding to April 18, 2026 AD).

The Ministry of Interior urged compliance with the regulations governing this year's Hajj season and cooperation with the relevant authorities to ensure the security and safety of the guests of the Merciful, stressing that violating these instructions exposes violators to regulatory penalties.
