Benefits and Risks of Green Tea

Khaberni - Experts suggest that daily consumption of green tea has a positive impact on the body, but this impact largely depends on lifestyle and individual characteristics.

According to experts, green tea is rich in antioxidants, particularly catechins and polyphenols, which help protect cells from damage and reduce inflammation. For this reason, regular consumption of this beverage is associated with a lower risk of chronic diseases, including heart disease.
In addition, green tea affects the brain as well, supporting cognitive functions, and improving focus and memory. This is due to its content of a mix of caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine, which has a milder effect than coffee.
Experts also note that green tea moderately enhances metabolism, especially when combined with physical activity. However, its contribution to weight loss remains minimal and cannot replace a balanced diet and exercise.
Another potential benefit for the skin, thanks to its antioxidant content, green tea reduces damage from ultraviolet rays and inflammation.
Despite these benefits, scientists warn against excessive consumption of green tea as it may cause side effects such as affecting the absorption of certain nutrients and increasing caffeine sensitivity. Therefore, they advise moderate consumption, without adding sugar.
And they say: "Regular consumption of green tea has its benefits. But these benefits depend on the overall lifestyle".
