Khaberni - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced on Sunday that Lebanon is working to stop the war and secure a full Israeli withdrawal from its territories through negotiation, ahead of an anticipated meeting of representatives from both countries on Tuesday in Washington.
Salam said in a speech broadcast on TV on the eve of the anniversary of the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war, "We will continue to work to stop this war, and secure the Israeli withdrawal from all our lands."
He added that efforts are ongoing, "led by the initiative presented by His Excellency President (Michel Aoun) to negotiate a ceasefire."
The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression against Lebanon since March 2, having exceeded a toll of two thousand martyrs.
