The King Receives the Syrian Ministerial Delegation Participating in the Meetings of the Joint High Coordination Council

Khaberni - King Abdullah II received on Sunday the Syrian ministerial delegation participating in the second session of the High Coordination Council between Jordan and Syria, in the presence of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.

During the meeting, which was held at the Al Husseiniya Palace, he emphasized the need to continue working on developing economic and trade relations and enhancing security cooperation between the two countries to achieve mutual interests.

His Majesty the King pointed out that the convening of the second session of the Joint High Coordination Council is an important step to move relations forward, affirming the necessity for the meetings to contribute to the implementation of joint work agreements.

The council represents 20 vital sectors and aims to promote Jordanian-Syrian relations towards a comprehensive strategic partnership in various fields.

The cooperation opportunities in several sectors such as water, transport, and energy were discussed, where His Majesty stressed the importance of integration among Arab countries and working on joint projects to enhance regional cooperation.

His Majesty the King reiterated Jordan's support for Syria's efforts to maintain its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh, the Minister of Water and Irrigation Engineer Raed Abu Al-Saud, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Engineer Ya'rab Al-Qudah, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Syria Dr. Sofian Al-Qudah.

It was also attended from the Syrian side by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Assad Al-Shibani, and the Ministers of Economy and Industry, Energy, Justice, Health, Transport, Agriculture, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Education, Social Affairs and Labor, Communications and Information Technology, Media, Religious Affairs, Tourism, Administrative Development, and several officials.
