Khaberni - The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening that the death toll from Israeli bombings on Lebanon has risen to 97 people, in addition to 133 injured during the day so far.
The Ministry added that the cumulative toll of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since March 2 until April 11 has risen to 2020 killed and 6436 injured, amid ongoing raids and military escalation on several southern areas.
On Saturday, Southern Lebanon witnessed a significant Israeli escalation in the pace of aerial and artillery shelling, amid cautious anticipation of the course of ongoing negotiations to stop the firing.
The Israeli army announced the execution of more than 200 raids on Hezbollah targets in the last 24 hours, in one of the most violent waves of escalation, accompanied by demolition and bombing operations that affected houses in the town of Naqoura, in addition to raids on several towns including Kfour.
Raids continued on southern areas, targeting the towns of Deir Qanoun, Abba, Tebnine, Halta, and Tefahta, alongside artillery shelling on Zawtar al-Gharbiya and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, amid fierce clashes in Bint Jbeil. The strikes subsequently extended to the towns of Jouaya, Babliyeh, and Sidikin, as well as the Ali al-Tahir heights in the Nabatiyeh district, and a drone strike targeted the town of Tebnine.
This accelerated escalation comes at a time when on-ground developments are intermingling with the political course, amid international and regional efforts to contain the escalation and achieve a ceasefire.
