Trump to NATO Secretary General The alliance did not exist when we needed it

Khaberni  - US President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment with NATO, affirming his belief that the organization will not come to help the United States again when Washington needs support.

Trump wrote on the platform "Truth Social": "NATO was not there when we needed it, and it will not be there if we need it again. Remember Greenland, that poorly managed big piece of ice."

For his part, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated after the meeting that the American leader is "clearly disappointed" with NATO allies, referring to the member states' refusal to participate in military operations against Iran or provide sufficient support to Washington.

Trump had previously stated that he was seriously considering withdrawing his country from NATO after the alliance refused to help Washington in the operation against Iran, describing the allies' reaction as "an indelible disgrace," reaffirming that the United States does not need the help of NATO countries, which, according to his words, "do everything to avoid providing it."

In an unprecedented linkage, Trump referred to the Greenland issue, hinting that the allies’ stance on the US control over the polar island contributed to deepening his disappointment with the alliance. Trump had previously expressed his readiness to "say goodbye" to NATO due to other countries' stance on Greenland.
