Netanyahu Fires His Spokesman After Series of Scandals

Khaberni - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed his spokesman after a widespread controversy sparked by his statements, while his successor faced criticism from the Israeli press on Monday.

Shortly after reaffirming his stay in office, Netanyahu wrote on the "X" platform that "Ziv Agmon will be leaving his post in the coming days, and Edo Norden will be appointed as his successor."

Agmon was at the center of widespread controversy following racist statements he made against Jews of Moroccan descent, describing them as "monkeys". He also harshly criticized members of the Likud party led by Netanyahu, in addition to the prime minister's wife and son.

After accepting his apology, the Israeli Prime Minister finally decided to fire him. However, the new spokesman for the prime ministership, Edo Norden, was attacked by Israeli journalists on Monday who leveled several accusations at him, including creating fake accounts on the "X" platform to promote his book.

Norden, a lawyer and economic expert, heads the "Forum of Senior Officials," a right-wing institute that is highly critical of senior civil service officials.

Before his official appointment, Norden must still undergo a security check to be able to work at the Prime Minister's office.

In recent months, Netanyahu has faced several problems involving his close associates.
